Valerie Sothcott, BSN, RN, VA-BC, SANE-A, SANE-P

Valerie graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Radford University in 2012 and has been practicing as an RN since 2013. She spent 6.5 years in critical care, with experience in Neuroscience, Surgical, Medical, and Trauma at a Level One Trauma Center. She also has experience in vascular access and correctional nursing. Since 2022, she has worked as a Forensic Nurse Examiner and SANE in the Emergency Department of her local hospital. She is board-certified as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner for Adult/Adolescent and Pediatrics. Valerie is pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Forensic Nursing from Aspen University and plans to graduate in 2025.

In her spare time, Valerie enjoys spending time with her family. She also enjoys going to the gym, hiking, and her new-found hobby of playing golf.
